Ritter Gas App Privacy Policy
Ritter Gas Services & Supplies (Pty) Ltd (“Ritter Gas”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of users of the Ritter Gas mobile application (“Ritter Gas App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, why it is collected, how it is handled, and how users may contact us about their personal information.
1. Information collected through the app
When a user submits a product enquiry, quotation request, service request, training enquiry or similar request through the Ritter Gas App, we may collect:
- Name and surname or contact name;
- Telephone or mobile number;
- Email address, where supplied;
- Delivery, service or site address, where supplied;
- Company or business name, where supplied;
- Product, quotation, installation, training or service request details; and
- Other information voluntarily included by the user in the request.
The current version of the Ritter Gas App does not require users to create an account and does not use the device’s GPS or precise-location permission to determine a user’s physical location.
2. How the information is used
Information submitted through the app is used for legitimate business purposes, including to:
- Respond to enquiries and quotation requests;
- Process product, LPG, installation, training and service requests;
- Contact the user about the request they submitted;
- Arrange collection, delivery, site attendance or other operational requirements where applicable;
- Maintain normal business, quotation, service and transaction records; and
- Meet applicable legal, accounting, safety, compliance and regulatory obligations.
3. Sharing of information
Ritter Gas does not sell personal information. Personal information is not shared for advertising or unrelated marketing purposes. Information may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf, such as website hosting, email or communications providers, where this is reasonably necessary to operate the app and respond to user requests. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or a lawful regulatory process.
4. Security and transmission
Information submitted through the Ritter Gas App is transmitted over secure HTTPS/TLS connections. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.
5. Retention
Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain legitimate business and transaction records, or to comply with applicable legal, accounting, safety, compliance or regulatory requirements. Retention periods may differ depending on the type of request or record.
6. Access, correction and deletion requests
Users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held by Ritter Gas by contacting us at projects@rittergas.co.za. We will process requests in accordance with applicable law and may retain information where retention is legally required or otherwise lawfully justified.
7. Children
The Ritter Gas App is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The Google Play listing is intended for users aged 18 years and over.
8. POPIA
Ritter Gas processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), where applicable.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, our services or legal requirements change. The current version will remain available at this web address and the effective date will be updated when material changes are made.
